Basket Cam on The Coconut Coast of Kauai

The coast of Kauai is a good a spot as any to hook up the 5D Mark II to the basket of a tandem bicycle.

I've put together a fairly random gallery of images from our annual decompression trip the island of Kauai. This year we spent a few days shooting for Mad Gringo so our knowledge of the island was a big help in finding some nice locations. Kauai Fisherman

No, this photo wasn't taken in the 1800's. But with a little help in post it sure looks like it could have been shot in another era. While on our annual trip to Kauai I spotted a fisherman working from the rocks. The image you see is pretty close to what was dancing in my head as I fumbled to set up my tripod and camera. I was only able to get 10 or so frames before he climbed into his Toyota and was on his way.

Clouds over Polihale

Another image of the irresistible clouds on Kauai. This one taken at Polihale which is literally the end of the road on the west side of the island.

Clouds over Hanalei Bay

The crew at Malone and Company often have a hard time separating work and pleasure and I'm no exception. I created this image yesterday while on our annual family trip to Kauai, HI.
The pano is from Hanalei Bay on the north side of the island. I've been to the bay well over 10 times
and the clouds and rain created by Kauai's unique phenomenon known as orographic lifting have made for dramatic images each time. Enjoy!
