Tortola Sunrise

Andrew and I finally made it here. We are now heading over to Surfsong on Beef Island for the days activities. Andrew has none of his clothes as the airline lost his bag. I will only say the airlines initials are "AA".

Here's a time lapse from my room this morning. As you can tell it's beautiful here.

Testing Video With Malone & Co's New 5D's

Our new Canon 5D's went from the box to the field in record time. Andrew and Mike were armed with the new gear. Look for more video from the 5D as we continue to put it through it's paces.

That's Me In Ben Harper's Eye

Andrew Marinkovich got to photograph the Ben Harper concert at Stir Cove over the weekend and it quickly lead to the most memorable show to date. After showing the tour manager a book of my Ben Harper images from previous venues- he hooked up back stage passes and we got to meet the band. Most exciting-I now have an opportunity to sell the book I made, at future shows! (Sorry for drawing on your face Ben)

Baseball + Blow Up Dolls

Andrew Mairnkovich was on the sideline yesterday at Rosenblatt Stadium for the NCAA College World Series. The fans in the outfield got a little careless with their inflatable doll and the ground crew seized the goods. Thankfully the players did not get distracted.

Rowing Regatta

Andrew Marinkovich got up early to cover a college rowing regatta hosted by Creighton University. Besides almost being stranded in the lake with a dead motor and a sun burn- it was a great day to create images outside.

Do You Know How to Survive a Snake Bite?

The risks we take to get the shot for the client- we love living on the edge. Thankfully we didn't have to for this shot. This snake looks dangerous, but it was dead. We found it at Wild Country Taxidermist and Don did great work keeping the realistic qualities of the snake. Snakes are much easier to light when they aren't moving!

Malone and Co is all about digital, so it's good to see the major players supporting the cause. The transition is complete.

Cheese

Not in the picture sense, but the food. Spent the holidays in dairy land aka Wisconsin. The local cheese place gets into the holiday with the sign outside the front door.

Check out color card images the Malone and Co crew has collected from numerous shoots- the past couple years. If you stop by the studio you can see the analog version sitting on the coffee table.

That's My Dog

I was not a dog fanatic, but after a week with my new puppy- well, I'm hooked. Little Oliver is a puggle (mix between pug and beagle) and full of feistiness.

Dose of Sport

Take your sport for the week. Found this ad while waiting for a train in Germany. It's a good reminder to get that work out in- whatever it is.

WalkAbout

On assignment in Kansas we met a woman named Phyllis that has overcome great adversity. Her multiple sclerosis kept her from walking for 12 years, but today she's riding skateboards and sharing her inspiring story with everyone she meets. Find out more about Phyllis and her dog Justice.

Groov'n with Ben Harper

Went to see Ben Harper in Minnesota last week, and scored a press pass. Besides my coworkers, I may be the only one actually excited to be working at a concert. Ben rocked it out- as always (if you haven't seen him live- do it- this cat can perform) Let me know if you are going to any show- I'll road trip with you.

Texas Shoot Out

More combines spotted along the Texas Oklahoma boarder aka Texoma. This time we did a little shoot'n from the skies. Special thanks to Lora for all the sweet BTS photography! (Most of the images in the gallery are thanks to Lora's good eye)
Heading to Idaho tomorrow to find combines harvesting wheat.

Krazy Clouds

I was just finishing up a shoot when Geoff called and said, "Do you have a camera on you?" Before I could answer he said, "You need to get some shots of these clouds!!"
When I saw the clouds, my first thought was tornado- it always is when I see an ominous looking sky. Geoff later informed me that the could that rolled through Omaha yesterday, a little after 7pm, was a shelf cloud. I couldn't get ahead of the cloud because it was moving so fast, but I managed to get a couple shots from the zoo parking lot.

World Cup Football

Just back from football (soccer) crazed Deutschland-enjoying all the world cup had to offer. We had tickets to the US vs Ghana match and football in Europe is an atmosphere like no other. The fans were out of control- which made the games even better. Don't miss the final this Sunday Italy vs France!
