As I inch closer to my 25th year as a photographer I still wake up each morning of a shoot antsy with anticipation for the day ahead. I'm excited to get another day of using my camera to see into other places and lives.
A few weeks ago while shooting up Winona, Minnesota for my good friends at Saint Mary's University I had to the opportunity to shoot a dance class. Click here to see a slideshow of the images.

Late last summer Mike shot a library of images for Arbor Links Golf Club. The new work was part of the clubs move to a private club with a resort component. Mike worked alongside Ben Drickey and our sister company Torchwerks to create both moving and still content for the Arnold Palmer signature course. The images, both moving and still, are live on clubs new site.

What's the one thing that keeps photographers from updating their work? It can never be done quick enough. We may have found the answer though... The Malone and Co website has a new look to the galleries. Slide Show Pro is now the standard for our galleries. SSP has integrated it's product with Adobe Lightroom and it easy to organize in LR and export with SSP for instant updates to our website. SSP even has a video function... Check it out.
Alegent Health and Bozell asked Mike Malone to come along with the Bozell crew to LA last fall to shoot the portraits that go along with the new TV commercials and print campaign. The campaign features Alegent CEO Wayne Sensor as the tour guide for services provided at Alegent Health. Each of the final ads featured a group photo as one image. Our own digital diva Kate Heller created the final composite from the multiple images Mike shot of each person and set.

As a student at Florence Elementary School, Stephanie Kimberling always looked forward to the Grandparents Luncheon. This was a day where the students could honor their grandparents by inviting them to lunch at school surrounded by artwork created especially for this day and a special presentation. The tradition continues and Stephanie now volunteers her time to photograph the students with their grandparents. The photos are then assembled by her mother Barb Kimberling, an employee at Florence, onto a nice frame and sent home with the students.

Assistant Sam Carter and Husband recently vacationed in beautiful Costa Rica...
Let's just say it was a "once in a lifetime experience". From the mountains of San Ramon to the white sandy beaches of Santa Teresa, we saw it all. We traveled through the central part of the country all the way to the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula. The mountains were covered in lush rain forests with amazing tropical birds, and three toed sloths. We stayed three nights at an Eco-lodge and culinary school called The Inn at Coyote Mountain. It was an amazingly relaxing retreat. It is nice to get away from technology every once in a while. We then headed off to our second destination. After driving for miles (on treacherous unpaved roads) in our 4x4 rental, and traveling across the ocean via car ferry, we arrived in Santa Teresa. This was a surfer's haven. Dreadlocks and ATV's! Here we stayed at Latitude 10° Jungle Beach Resort. This resort is another Eco-loge consisting of secluded bungalows right in the middle of the jungle and on the edge of a private beach. the water was amazingly warm and at night the howler monkeys were amazingly loud. The people we met were great as well. There is not enough time in the day to share all the experiences we had in just one short week! It was a vacation well worth the wait.
Here at Malone and Co. it is not unusual to put our equipment to the ultimate test and beyond. We are absolutely in love with our Magliner cart! It is truly every assistants companion. It can handle your heaviest load, walk you through the tightest situation, and it will keep going when you feel like quitting. Also, when your Magliner is feeling low, all it needs is a little pump. That's what I call low-maintanance! This friend is tried and true and has never let us down!
